Meet the band
#QueerCountry Bandwagon plays queer songs by country artists, country songs by queer artists, and gender-bending Americana tunes. Their debut show was the Covers for Cover streaming concert in December 2023. They have been gigging regularly in 2024, playing Dorothy Downstairs, Cafe Mustache, Dyke Nite Chicago, Sapphic Before Sunset, the Lavender Prairie Festival, Stoned at the Jukebox and the Queer Social Club’s “Swappin’ Boots” country-dancing event.
Richelle Gordon
Lead Vocals & Guitar
Richelle has played around Chicago for 20 years in Old Town School Ensembles and her bands Twangdogs and Steel String Highway.
Bobbie Goins
Lead Guitar & Vocals
Bobbie is a former Old Town School teacher who performs regularly as a member of Vandabobs, Diamondback and the Rosedale Ramblin’ Band.
Mavis the Drummer
Drums & Vocals
Mavis is a life-long musician who recently became enamored with both drums and country music (though her favorite will always be punk). She has been singing since the day she was born, and is also a classically trained bassoonist.
Lisa Braganca
Bass & Vocals
Lisa is a life-long musician starting with clarinet and bassoon, then acoustic and electric guitar, and now electric bass. She loves playing queer and alternative country music especially with QCB.
Anne-Marie Akin

Anne-Marie Akin is a singer-songwriter, composer, and teaching artist originally from Memphis, Tennessee, who now resides in Chicago.
